Chocolate Cake

The theme from SoArtful Challenges this week is Chocolate.  So I decided to do this recipe card for a Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake.  I love this cake, and have fond memories of having it as a little girl. I haven't made it in years, and couldn't find my recipe passed down to me, (but I'm still looking) so this is one from All Recipes.   Thanks for looking. Now I have to get some coffee to go with this cake! :-)

Great idea! It certainly fits the challenge, and is a very beautiful recipe card.
I chose the gypsy theme instead. Nice work!

Yummy, yummy! I have made chocolate cake with mayonnaise before. But have you tried making one with beetroot?

In answer to your question - the beetroot gives the cake a great colour, keeps it moist and is actually quite sweet. It's similar to using carrots in a cake or even courgettes (Zucchini!)
